Best PC build from a ALpostr I've seen yet. Buying all my parts today, and after having some extreme second thoughts, watching this video has been totally reassuring. No one else has gone as in depth as you and I truly appreciate it. @joe metalsfield huh...? Both my cpu and gpu are AMD. But even if they weren't, how is that wasting money?? It's not like you can't run an AMD gpu with an Intel CPU. Especially if they're last gen considering they don't gain any performance like the new AMD gpu's do.

I had to touch the golden pins on mine. Mine came brand new from AMD with 3 bent pins... Luckily on the corner so I was able to carefully bend them back... Good thing I have steady hands, lol. Edit: "You do not want to grab it by the cooler" *nervous laughter*

I mean, I think you could have went with a 850W PSU that wasn't modular, or a semi-modular one like the TX-M series for the same price maybe? I'm not 100% sure but I would think a non modular version would be cheaper for the wattage? Edit: Ah, I see, you care about how the cables look, which is why you went full modular. Now I got it. Edit2: Nevermind, they were just extensions anyway. Thought someone sold custom cables that fit directly into the modular PSU, haha, that would be kind of cool to eliminate all of that extra cables you had.

I bought a WD NVME drive and it died in 1 week. When I tried to RMA it the website would never let me register it, so I tried to chat with their customer support, I waited for over 30 minutes as it counted down my place in the queue and when I was number 1 in the queue it said that no rep was available, try again later... Yah... Not really enjoying my WD right now...

No display when I turned it on; bought a small buzzer for the motherboard and the diagnostic told me in was a graphic card issue. Took the card out and reinstalled and all good. @Tsudamy i'm gonna replace my nzxt h510 with a phanteks 600s. unfortunately i'm unable to return it because it isn't an acceptable reason in the refund policy of the seller. luckily I made enough from the bitcoin rally to cover the wasted money. it's still sad though :( I reckon rx 5600xt is better and cheaper than rtx 2060. do consider getting that instead!

just search on youtube but you should find out how to 1. put an OS image in a flash drive and install it into the PC 2. find the wifi drivers, graphics card drivers, audio drivers of your motherboard (just google your motherboard model and look for the drivers for it). put them in a flash drive and install it onto the computer after the OS is ready

there's usually a connector with the label "HD AUDIO" and it goes on the bottom left part of the motherboard that says AAFP. if you check the pins and the slot you can't get it wrong

Another really easy case to build in is the Coolermaster Masterbox TD500 ARGB. I got it for $97 online and it's got RGB fans built right into it. I really love the slight amount of clearance they give you between the motherboard and the back of the case. Makes it really easy to install my double GTX1660 Super setup, whereas with the smaller cases I had trouble battening my graphics cards down in the back without having to do a metric crap ton of work uninstalling my cables, graphics adapter and motherboard, then installing the adapter on the board and CAREFULLY reinserting the assembly and reattaching my cables. The GTX1660 is a tad weighty, as you're no doubt aware, and I was always paranoid of the possibility of cracking my PCIE slot because of that weight. :D

Rescued me from myself! I have plenty of patience, but my tolerance for screw up directional simulation is sorely lacking. If I set out to follow step by step processes and at the end find there were errors "in" the step by step processes I'm subject to leave the project altogether, even if it means wasting the money for what I bought and taking a hammer to the finished trainwreck. I followed your tutorial and low and behold I finished with virtually the exact same finished product. Everything works........just like yours! Holy Molly batman I must have screwed up because, it wasn't supposed to be that simple. I completed the rest of the build for the computer, sans tutorial and, was thrilled like a school boy who tagged his very first beginning to end "romance" with my earliest puppy love. I built the entire PC in just a few hours (including breakfast break) as a birthday present to my 13 year old grandson. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

An SSD is not absolutely required, but I recommend installing one, be it M.2 or 2.5". SSDs are faster than hard drives.

How do i know the polarity of the hdd led and power sw cables from the front panel?

on the motherboard you might see text that says "+HD_LED-" in that case the left pin is positive obviously and the right pin is negative. the connector will also have + or - but if it doesn't look for the side with an arrow. the arrow indicates where positive is. for the power switch it doesn't matter which way you connect it. that's why you won't find any arrows or + or - labels on the connector or the motherboard.

I didn’t use the same parts, but after massive research & the mercy of PC components shortages and scalper chaos - I still came out with about a $1500 build, which I’m sure if it were a prebuilt from major retailers would have cost 3x as much. Some choices I made b/c of personal aesthetics, some b/c of price, and some parts b/c they were the only thing available for a normal MSRP price. I will not support scalpers! DarkForce MATX case - mint green, B550M-Prime (Wi-Fi) MATX Motherboard, Ryzen 7 3700x CPU, Thermaltake 64GB DDR4 (2x 32GB) c16 C3200 RGB RAM, ID-Cooling CPU Cooler (white), Corsair RM850x 80+ Gold PSU (white), Sabrent Rocket M.2 NVMe PCIE Q4 - 2TB w/heat sink (Copper/white), (5) - ID-Cooling 120mm Case fans (Mint Green/White LED) 12V 4-pin, Noctura Thermal Paste, Noctura anti-vibration fan connectors, Noctura 4-pin Y fan connector extensions, Asia Horse extension cables (white), and the only GPU that I could get my hands on that is semi-decent - XFX Radeon R570 RS 8GB (black/red - which totally clashes with my build, but I’m grateful to find one MSRP 8GB graphics card at Best Buy, until the 3080 Nvidia cards return someday).

I am completely new to build a pc and had ordered similar parts to this build. It is clear and easy to understand for someone like me and I feel more confident about putting together my build. Now to wait for my GPU and mobo to arrive and I will be good to start building.

I would like to buy the same parts, but I'm not sure if that case has that good airflow. I will only do some casual gaming without overclocking and without max graphics, will it be enough?

Quick question : Why did you use cable extensions ? The cables were too short because of the case and the main board connector position ? I never built a PC before :)
